What should I do in an emergency?

Should an emergency occur, please call ahead with the nature of the emergency so that we can be prepared for your arrival. After-hours our answering machine provides the number for the Animal Emergency Clinic of Mid-Maine (207) 777-1110 which is located at 47 Strawberry Ave. Lewiston, ME 04240.

Do you bill?

Elective procedures are provided on a cash basis. We accept VISA, MasterCard, Discover and Checks. We also accept CareCredit, a GE Money Company offering veterinary financial payment plans. We also strongly recommend pet insurance.

Can I request a veterinarian?

Absolutely, we encourage you and your pet to form bonds with our staff!

Do I need a referral from my regular veterinarian for special services?

For orthopedic surgeries and other cases where a previous veterinarian has been consulted, all pertinent records, radiographs, and laboratory results should be forwarded to our office before the appointment. For orthopedic cases we have a special referral form that should also be filled out and sent to us ahead of time by your veterinarian.

I am on vacation and forgot my pet's medication, can I pick it up at your office?
We will be happy to fill your pet's prescription once the prescribing veterinarian contacts us with their approval.

What is AAHA?

AAHA is an acronym for American Animal Hospital Association. Member hospitals must meet strict standards in 12 areas (including surgery, anesthesia, patient care and laboratory), and are evaluated and inspected every 3 years. Membership is voluntary, so while a hospital can operate without accreditation, we strongly believe in the quality standards set forth and are proud to have been a member since1976.

Do you offer or accept pet health insurance?

We do accept pet insurance, most companies will reimburse your costs. For more information:
